Corinne Renshaw Artist

Meet Corinne

Melbourne, Australia based contemporary artist Corinne Renshaw is a certified foodie by day, but for the last few years she’s been exploring her creativity in a different way - painting. It all started in 2021 when she started Give a bite Art that gives, selling prints as a way to give back, with 30% of profits donated to the world food programme to help end hunger.

A life-long love of painting and drawing, inspired Corinne’s emerging career as an artist. She is mostly self-taught having dabbled in life drawing at uni and learning how to draw figures & facial features through online tutorials. Her colourful contemporary paintings include expressive portraits, birds, landscapes and memories from her family holidays. In her latest series ‘the 100 heads challenge’ she creates 100 unique portraits using a variety of mediums with acrylic paints, charcoal, oil pastel and pen.

“A great thing about portraits is being able to create an emotion in the paintings subject and bold coloured background. I build layer upon layer of colour and texture, reworking each element until Im happy enough to call it finished (maybe), from there I keep it within sight and make the final touches after seeing in in the different lights of day.”

The 100 heads challenge has been a great way to develop her skill set and find inspiration with colour and mark making to tell a persons story. Every portrait sold from the challenge also helps make a difference with 50% of profits donated to help end hunger.

Her artwork has has part of community art exhibitions and can be found bringing joy to homes around the world.
